Here is the mistake that turns a three-day clearance into a week. The forklift, the pallet trucks, the scissor lift and the spanner sets are the valuable, easily moved assets, so they get sold, returned to the lease company or sent ahead to the new unit first. Hold one forklift and a licensed operator until the last beam is on the truck. The same applies to power. If the utility account is closed the week before, you are stripping a high-bay unit with no lighting, no power for grinders and no air-conditioning in the office, working to whatever daylight comes through the open shutter. Time the disconnection after the clearance, not before it.
Every unit has one: broken pallets, empty drums, a shelf of part-used oils and paints, aerosols, an old fire extinguisher, spent batteries, and the forklift traction battery that was replaced two years ago and never left. None of it is difficult, but none of it belongs in a general load either.
